Most people have put time, effort, and some money into their home-based music collections, but sometimes playing or browsing that music from a particular computer or location is inconvenient and restrictive. SongTip is a distributed graphical interface to browse and play your digital music library - in other words, a smart remote control. But because SongTip is portable software, it runs on hardware you already own so you don't have to invest in more dedicated hardware that is quickly obsolete.
SongTip is designed to work especially well with various handheld devices as well as desktops. And SongTip has more intelligence than a remote control - presenting music (songs, albums, playlists) in various rich formats (with cover art), sorting by your preference (artist, title), searching as you type, and queuing the music you play so it can generate playlists as you wish. You can more easily play what you want to hear, or see who it is that is playing, or adjust the time and place in the song, or loop and shuffle the songs you've selected - from anywhere on your network that you are running SongTip.
SongTip is also better than just another portable player that needs to be synced and docked - it gives you automatic network access to browse and play from your entire and current home-based music library. SongTip works especially well with whole-house audio solutions like AirTunes to play throughout your entire home.
